Default Tachs

Has anyone had any weird tach problems? I've had a couple of people complain that theirs begins to oscillate at around 6 grand and stops at about 8. Anyone have this problem?

I have an '03 and my tach gets jumpy around 9 and clears up about 10.5 or 11.

In the shop for that prob now...talked to the tech, he said that the Kawi manual's decision flow points to replacing the tach. They are finishing an engine job up in front of mine. So, when they get the new one on and I get the results, I will post and let you know.

The shop ended up replacing the tach per the recommendation from following the diagnostic flow in the Kawi manual.

All seems good now....

$260 tach...free to me (with service contract).

I have that problem with mine, starts at about 10 and doesnt clear up. I thought it was a carb problem but after this I might not tear it down.
