hello everyone. when i start my 93 zx7 up, it makes a loud noise before it starts. it usually does that when i first do it, then it's fine. my friend says it's a starter clutch? not sure what that is but he told me it's the part where the little teeth on the starter connects to. it sounds like its missing teeth on it or something. i can use all the help.

look at your manual or your favorite parts fiche to view the part or parts in question. And yes it could be your starter acting up causing the noise.
