Default 93 zx7 sputter problem

93 zx7 bought 2 years ago. this past winter i took the carbs apart due to cleaning and b/c every now and then when i got on the throttle the bike would sputter. it has an aftermarket yoshi pipe which was on when i bought the bike. i don't know the exact numbers of the jets at the moment but they were larger then the ones that came in the new jet kit i purchased. now that ive redone the carbs and am now driving the bike the problem seems to happen more often now. my theory is that the jets are too small and need to be bigger? any suggestions or recomendations? think i'm correct?

thanks

Jetting could definately cause your problem, I assume you have fresh gas in it as well? If nothing else is obviously wrong with the bike, I'd play around with a few jet sizes to see if it improves. Is it just a sputter and keep going or will the bike choke out?

yea fresh gas. just a sputter and takes off. while freshening up the carbs the wires were old and brittle so i replaced the wires (along with coils too because i couldnt purchase new wires separately) and new spark plugs.
