Default 1999 zx7r not starting

I have a1999 zx7r that is having trouble starting sometimes. When I jump on the bike for the first time of the day it will always start, one I go down the road five miles and shut it off it will not start right away, sometimes not at all and I will have to push start it. It doesn't do this all the time but often. It will turn over all the time, it is getting fuel because you can smell it in the pipe and it will backfire sometimes once it starts running. I replaced the ignitor and the fuse/junction box. I've tried leaving the kick stand down and up or pulling the clutch in or leaving it in neutral when starting but nothing makes a difference. When it finally starts it's not quick, it is slow starting. I also thought it might have something to do with the start button but last time it wouldn't start I crossed it at the solenoid and it made no difference. Have any ideas?
Thanks, Greg
