Default 1994 zx7 overheating

My 1994 zx7 is boiling the coolant out the overflow. I've removed the thermostat to let it run free flow and it is still heating up in traffic or slow speeds. I put water wetter in it and have cleaned the rad and flushed the cooling system. The only thing I can think is head gasket. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanx

Is the fan operating at high temps? at low speed there is not enough airflow to cool the engine, so if the fan doesnt turn on it could cause the issue.

Try flushing the system with a good glycol or cleaner. Sounds like there is a lot of build up/scale that needs cleaned before the heat transfer can actually take place.

inspect the water pump, and try bleeding it from the little valve on the side of the housing.. should have something come out of there..

a good head gasket test is:
-take rad fill cap off.
-with bike totally cold, start it up.

if chit comes flying out, then you have a bad head gasket.
if nothing comes out, and theres no evidence of bubbles or prssurization, then move to whatever might be next on your inspection list..
pump, radiator core/fins, hoses, thermostat..

good luck, and welcome to KF!
