ZX6R 2007 Coolent Question
I have a number of questions about coolent, and i was hoping that there is someone here that could help me.
First, i am wondering where do you check the coolent levels.. I have a resivor on the left side but it does not say the level on it.
Secondly, where do i add the coolent and what kind, how much etc.
Lastly, how often should you be checking your coolent levels on this type of bike.
Thanks for all the help... i am pretty new to sportbike riding so forgive me if i have very newbish questions. thanks again.

well if you just want to stick with what the stock coolant is...i would say go motul...they have some good coolant...and usually if you look at the resivour on the left side of the bike you usually want that near the top...to fill it just prop up the gas tank...and you will see a rubber cap...it should have an line with F on it...and one with E if the reivour is only 1/4 full it is usually close to empty...3/4 is mostly close to full...
now if you think you want in the near future change from regular coolant to water wetter which is a cool product that works alittle better than radiator fluid and is not as toxic as regular coolant is...then just get a hold of a service manual and when it is time for your bike to get a rad flush then replace it with water wetter...but flush it a couple times more than the service manual says because they just say do it until the water comes out clear...meaning the fluid is out..but when i did it on my 06 i had alittle more left even after the service manual recommend cycles of flushing...

fluid can be added by removing the cap for the resiviour with a residential water main shut off wrench and a long funnel. without propping the tank. just remove the little fairing by the tank.
The coolant resevoir has a lne on it that the coolant level should be at. The radiator cap is on the RH front side of the fairing inner filler cover on all of them. Watter wetter, Engine Ice and MoCool are better, more efficientcoolant additivesbut must be used with distilled water. Most are legal for track use.Never use regular tap water because ofall the minerals in it. I have Engine Ice in my bike but may switch to MoCool (Motul Product).
well because the other alternatives than radiator fluid, the water wetter extra...is like a type of fluid that needs to react with distilled water to correctly cool....if you go straight water wetter it won't correctly work...
