Weird Sound...Please Help
So I have 1400 miles of problem free riding, however, yesterday I was riding and I noticed this weird sound. It started happening when I had to make an emergency stop so I used the front brake and I heard a click (like when something is about to break). Later on I noticed when riding it sounds like something is caught somewhere in the upper part of the front of the bike like when you go over a stone or something. In 1st gear it doesnt make any sound, but when I go into 2nd and accelerate hard, it makes the sound for like 3 seconds and goes away. Also happens in the other gears and happens when I ride over a bump and I hear it for a second. I hope I described this well. Anyone have any ideas what this could be?[/align]
Thanks...I will check it out. But since I am relatively new to how the bike works and where the parts are located, can you tell me where the head bearing is?
And I am open to more suggestions to what this sound may come from, so keep them coming. I will take the whole bike apart if I have too

Yeah, sounds like the steering head bearings are loose. They are just below the upper triple clamps. You will need a spanner wrench (preferred)or punch and hammer. Sometimes the brake lines hitting the fender makes a noise just as mentoned earlier.
Thanks for the help guys. Unfortunately it turns out that the head bearing was not the problem. I brought it to the dealership and they took my bike apart. They are still looking for the problem. I hope whatever the problem is, it is under warranty. Those crazy ***** are charging $100 an hour [:@]. I will keep you posted.
Well heres an update. They found the problem. The frame slider screw was loose. All they did was tighten it and charged me $175. I could have had almost two new sets of frame sliders for that money. Im pissed. Last time I go to the dealership for anything, unless the bike starts falling apart and its covered under warranty ofcourse.
That is why it's a good idea to check all the nuts & bolts on the bike every so often. It's agood safety precaution anyway. Grab stuff on the bike and shake it/ check for looseness. The dealer will always charge for their time. Some are honest and some rip you off. If they had to take a bunch of stuff apart to fing the noise, you got off cheap at $175! Dealer should be the last resort unless you know for sure it's warranty work. CHECK IT YOUR SELF FIRST!
