How much do shops usually charge to mount and balance a set of tires? Is $90 too much?

 

That sounds about average. I believe the stealer here want's like $70 or $80

It is normaly 1/2 that if you take them just the rims.
What kind if tire changer do you have tx?

 

Some places will do it for free if you buy the tires from them or $15 for front & $20 for the rear.

 

is that for a set on the bike ? damm.

here its 35.00 each on and 25 each off. mount and balence.

 

when I bought my bike I was chekcing the board and they where charging like $70 or $80 an hour for shop fees and there was a sign that said min of 1 hour. So that is what I was going off of. When I need tires I will check again.

 

Damn.... I get charged for 30bucks for tires off the bike

 

i seen a add in a mag for a scratchless tire changer for like 500 bucks. id buy it if there were enough people near me to get my moneys worth out of it. hell with the dealers.

 

But then, you gotta get them computer balanced. I thought about that too. I know a guy with a bike shop here who removed a tire for free off a wheel I was having straightened. That was nice of him. He'd do $15 each mounted & balanced; wheels only.
