Default Tire Choices. Street or Trackday tires?

I just read the Sport Rider Tire comparison between the sport touring, sport, supersport/ trackday, DOT racing and Racing Slicks. Overall for the streets, the Sport Tires (Qualifiers and Pilot Powers) were the best. The Trackday tires took too long to heat up and had to be kept warm for good traction and feedback. The Qualifiers and the Pilots warmed up right away and felt confident. They were also just a fraction slower in laptimes than the rest of the higher performance tires. So for the money and the wear/ mileage, the street tires are the best; even for trackday/ street use.

I just got an Ohlins for mine. It's actually one off of a Z750, but the same shock dimensions and the swingarms were the same on the 03. I got a graet deal on it; hadn't planned on buying it but couldn't pass it up. You know how it is. I'll have it on soon with new pics with the completed FMF. Just got the band & screws in. Got a carbon chain & heel guards coming from Great Britain soon. Possibly a rear hugger before the month is up, hopefully.
