do the HID bulbs alone make a noticable difference. This is one area I no little about and am curious... If they do where did you pick em up at and are they a direct replacement?

ryninger, I added the H4 style bulb only to mine. It has made a HUGE difference. I picked mine up on ebay for $45US (two-pack).

I got the top bulb on this link. The Xtreme White Plus: http://piaa.com/Bulbs/Bulbs-H4.html

The difference is really quite amazing.

look around on eBay!! do a search just for H4 bulb, then look at the auctions...all of them!!! I JUST bought some for $11 shipped! and got some H7's for Ninja Honey's EX500 for $8....and yes they are new and sold in pairs.

Ive been thinking of getting new bulbs. How difficult is it to replace stock with a new H4 bulb?

Takes about 5-10 a bulb. All you do is take out a couple of screws holding the black plastic next to your tank off. Then its as easy as twisting open the light compartment and unhook the metal strap holding the light in place. Then just put in the new bulb(direct fit) andput it back together. DO NOT TOUCH THE BULB WITH YOUR BARE FINGERS OR IT WILL EXPLODE WHEN YOU TURN ON YOUR LIGHTS!!!

Just installed my bulbs today, so I will see how much difference they make on the trip home. I switched to a blue mirror shield on my Scorpion Helmet so of course it makes night driving a little bit worse on the non-lit highway trek home. It was more white in the garage when I tested after install, but that's not a really good test to go by.

For those of you who just change out the bulbs to HID bulbs, what fuse did you install to replace the stock 10 amp one? Unfortunately, I didn't test the high beams in the garage and when I hit them on the way home (going 85mph) the lights instantly went out....not good! So I pulled off to the side to see if it was what I though, just the fuse and a co-worker who I just passed pulled over to give me some light and to make sure I was alright. Checked it and sure enough blown, I just shoved another 10amp back in and didn't switch to high beams the rest of the way home.

My light is definately brighter now, with the tinted lens on it looked like how it did with a clear lens and stock light bulbs. So I'm happy with that. I'm going to look for 20amp fuses to put in, but I just wanted to know if maybe the 15 was good enough too. I don't want to melt my harness since I use my high beams quite a bit when driving(even during the day).

What wattage are the bulbs?

I haven't changed any fuses and haven't had any problems, but the bulb was 55W=85W.

I got some street glow H4 bulbs but they arent even close to fitting. The prongs are wider and there are three of them.

one thing to keep in mind when getting new bulbs.. is to make sure that you keep the watts of the bulbs they same as stock wattage.. If you run a higher watt bulb than stock you will chance melting the conector like I did on my bike..
