hey guys im a new member to the kawi forum(use to ride hondas) and am having porblems with my tank pressurzing. my tank cap starts to squeal after a short ride and checked the venting hose and its clear. does anyone have any suggestions on what i can do?

 

I think that's normal for a Kawi. I'm also a long time Honda rider myself, but I used to have a friend with a ZX-7R and his did the same thing. I've heard others, as well, including my '03 636.

 

my 07 does the same

 

thats sucks that thats normal cause it drives me crazy. i guess if you guys all have that problem it must not be a problem. mine is an 06 but if an 07 is doing the same thing maybe its just the manufacturing.

 

i think its just there way of venting pressurized fuel

 

YEAH JUST TAKE YOUR KEY AND BURP IT OCCASSIONALLLY. IT DOESN'T DO IT AS BAD ON A FULL TANK OF GAS.

Mine's a 06 and it does the same thing.

 

so does mine expecially when its hot out on a low tank of gas. its just the vapors expanding. no big deal.

 

Try not filling it all the way up . It is the tank trying to equlize. It is actually pulling the air through the key hole. Have you ever ran your car down to "e" and when you opened the capped it hissed? It is the same thing. The key hole for the gas cap is not air tight so it pulls the air from there and that is why is makes the noise. Just like when you wissle but just the oppisite air flow. Hope this helps.
