SPROCKET SIZE QUESTION
how many teeth can i go up in the rear before i need to get a larger chain. I think i should be able to get away with at least two. anybody got any reviews on your sprocket size and how you like it. i was reading a post on here (cant remembeer who posted it) that he went down 1 in the front and up 5 in the rear. i want some more low end but that seems like a lot of top end loss. im riding 2007 zx6r. need opinions please.
I went down 1 in the front and up 2 in the rear. I'm not sure about how far you can go with the same chain. I've heard of people going up 2 in the rear and keeping the front stock and still using the same chain. generaly I would say change the chain but with your bike being so new it would kind of be a waste.
I would do the -1 +2 gearing, u will gain alittle more grunt down low and not loose a whole lot up top, and u will be able to run the stock chain aswell, consider your bike is a 07 and the chain is probly still good why replace it
thanks for the input guys. i did not want to get a new chain (brand new) only has 1700 miles on it. i will try the minus one and plus two and let ya know what i think. [8D]
Doesnt really matter to me. ive seen 160 on mine and i really dont need to go that fast. i would rather have some good low end grunt and loose a little on the top end. [8D]
hey guy's what rpm are u guy's turnin at 75 mph in 6th gear for the 05-07, my 04 zx 6r has the -1 +2 gearing, i am wantin to get me a 45t for the rear and keep the -1 thats on there now, right now my bike at 75 mph is turnin 6500 rpm in 6th gear if that helps
