Default So I am getting a slip-on...

So I graduated from college (automotive major for those who are interested), and my parents are getting me the slip-on I wanted for a grad present. I have decided to go with the Leo Vince.

Now, I have been saving up for it, because I didn't know that they were gonna get it for me, so i have alil extra cash i can spend on stuff for the bike... I'm tryin to decide if I wanna get some more gear, or get a big thing (like a steering damper or a new rear set), or a bunch of lil things. Technically I have enough gear (helmet, jacket, gloves, boots, icon jeans), but I'd like some more pants, or a new jacket or another pair of gloves. The gloves that I have feel alil loose on my hands, and I think I got a size too big. The jacket seems alil big too, well, it has a liner, and when i have the liner in, its ok, but w/ the liner out, it's alil big.

So I guess I have a few questions.

What should I get? Protection related stuff, or parts related?

Which do you all like/use, short or long style gloves?

How needed is a steering damper?

And how much better is leather than the textile jackets? One jacket I am looking at is like $500 in leather, and like $100 cheaper textile form...

Thanx for your attention.

well billy, you can never have to much gear, so i say, i have 3 jackets and a few helmets and 6 pairs of gloves, just because. but if you feel your gear is not suffecient enough protection for you then consider somemore gear. if it is then start modding the bike man.

I recommend good riding gear because if you ever hit a Tankslapper, you'll need it. I've heard that the 05/06's are more stable than the 03/04's which really need the damper. It's always good to have a damper with these superbikes for safety. So get your pipe, the gear or, the damper next if you already have your gear.

Get good gear fore most, if you go down you'll be glad you did. I would also reccomend getting a steering damper before a pipe. A pipe makes a bike your own, but if you get a tankslapper and total it, a several hundred to thousdand dollar pipe is worthless. Anyone that has used their damper once know that it is worth it's weight in gold!
