Default Seat Height on 05-06 model 636's?

G'day guys

In about18 months time ill be on the lookout for a 05 636, and since im 16 the likelyhood of any dealer allowing me to test ride one of these is nil soim asking the real riders
Basically, im about 175 cm (5' 10') and im a bit worried about the seat height of the 636 since i havnt hada chance to sit on one. So guys get both feet on the ground flat? tippy toes? leaning off the seat ?
Can't wait till im off restrictions

With your height, you won't have any problems reaching the ground. One of my customers is 5"5" and he has a stock height 06.

Phew fast reply for someone halfway around the world. Thanks very much speed, thats pretty much solved my worries about the bike then. Just makes me all the more excited

I find it amazing though reading the threads where in some parts of the USA that you can ride a 636 straight after getting your lisence. In our system you have to do a 2-day course ( 8-hours) and a theory test to get your lisence, and even then you can only ride a max 250cc bike. Some of our lucky states have p/w restrictions instead of size resrictions though. Similar to your system at all?

Yea you won't have any problems at all, my wife is 5"6" and she doesn't have any problems touching. It sucks that you have to wait until you are 18 before you can ride but it is probably for the best. I know I wanted a motorcycle in the worst way when I was 16 but my dad wouldn't let me. Looking back at it I am glad he didn't because I would have killed myself. I think a person should have some driving experience in a car before moving to two wheels.

Anyways I am getting off topic......hang in there and you will be riding before you know it, and you won't be dissapointed with the 636 either.

Yeah i was quite suprised merdox when my parents let my get my license at 16, escpecially since they both ride and know the dangers, and now i ride to college and work on mygsx 250 (i knowiknow im a traitor)every day.and to be honesti prefer riding on a 250 while im learning because its just so predictable in its movements, but still plenty of power for now.

Tyreshredder, you are going about it correctly by getting a smaller bike and learning to ride it to it's full potential first before jumping on a bigger bike. Learn as much as you can from the 250 and you will be a better/ faster600 rider. Try to do some trackdays on the 250 if you can. It will teach you a lot about riding and handling a bike.I started on a 50cc Honda streetbike; '82 Honda MB5 and made some mods to it. I learned so much from that bike and had a lot of fun. Used to eat 450 Honda Hawks & 750's in the tight twisties of Oakland & Berkeley California hills although mostly downhill due to the lack of horsepower. (6.5 HP stock & 10 HP modified). Couldn't be touched/ beatengoing downhill. I passed this guy on a Honda 750F on the inside of a turn like he was going backwards and he was racing me. Of course when the long straightway came, he almost blew me off the road. I think he was upset that he got smoked by a 50cc bike.

I'm 5'10 and when im on the bike im on the ***** of my feet. with you being 5'10 also you don't have anything to worry about. My friend whos about 5'5 tried to get on my bike both feet would be off the ground if the bike was up stright. Is it just me or are ninja taller then the other sport bikes? I can flat foot my friends 05 GSXR-600 and same for another friends R6. My Ninja is an 04 636 and i can't flat foot it.

I don't know of any states in the US that require a training class before getting a license, or engine size restriction after acquiring a license.
