Hey guys, new here and about to purchase a 06 black zx6r

just wondering if new bikes are supposed to come with the hard seat cowl when you buy them or not? I havent made arrangements with my salesman yet to buy it, and forgot to ask him.

just wanted to ask you guys before i went in there next week.

if not, wheres the cheapest place to get them at?

I picked my 06 636 about 3 weeks ago (black also, good color choice) but no seat cowl. I think that Suzuki is still the only company that includes 2 seat cowls for the GSXR

 

I believe you are right but they are ugly [:-]

 

Also, I looked at the Kawi web site and they sell solo seat cowls but black isn't listed as a color choice on the website. I'm sure if you talked to your dealer they could hook you up, maybe you could talk em into throwing it in with the price of the bike. Eurobikes. com used to sell seat cowlings for most bikes, but the site hasn't been updated recently so I don't know if they stilll have em.

That black seat cowl is available but it is not listed on the Kawasaki website. It does not come with the bike. The part number is 99996-1348-H8. Cost should be around $100. When I got mine, there were several hundred of them in stock in Kawasaki's parts division in California.

 

be careful with the black ones... I heard from a couple close contacts within dealers that their is a problem with the paint. They have had some bubble, peel, and start to oxidize even on their showroom floor... check into a warranty against it...

i saw one on ebay going for $120+ plus shipping.. id def like to find them cheaper

why is everyone against them so much? i think they look a whole lot better than just the seat.. and for someone like me who is getting their 1st bike and wont have a passenger for awhile i think it will be nice.

oh well, everyone has their opinions
