Poll: Bike or Rider?
I get a lot of mixed reviews about someone new to the riding scene buying such a super sport bike like the zx6r. I'm just wondering some opinions about the said statement. Is it the bike that is dangerous or the rider?
As long as the rider is in control but if the bike is too powerful, an inexperienced rider may not be able to or know how to control it. Take a Ninja 250 for example: you can go in a turn and gas it and most likely not slide the rear-end or high side but try the same with a ZX6R or especially a ZX10, you will be doing the flying "W" and end up in a cast. So you could say that it's like giving a kid a gun; it's irresponsible because the kid can't handle it safely.
the more powerful the bike the less forgiving it is of mistakes.
the 6r is imo that MAXIMUM any new rider should consider. granted there are larger displacement bikes that make less power so its the power not the displacement.
i started on z 95 zx6r (same as current zzr600) and if you have self control it is pretty forgiving.

Glad to hear most of that because that is what i'm getting. I keep getting back and forth from people, but in the end it's how i feel about it. I've always felt good about it because i'm toonervous to do something stupid. I also took BRT so i am feeling better. I plan on going through all the courses. Now i just have to pay it off. Blah. (:
