i will be changing the oil on my 06 636 this weekend for the first time

any suggestions on what oil i should?

 

I use Mobil 1 Full Sythentic motorcycle oil. Some will say that you don't need to use motorcycle specific oil and that full synthectic is bad but you can make your own decision. I have over 70,000 miles total on 3 different motorcycles with no problems yet.

 

I would continue to keep using the Kawi Chem . I wouldn't switch oil until you have about 1000 to 1500 miles then you can use a performance oil.Alot of guys switch to the synthetic oils. Just remember that oil also is used for the wet clutch in the tranny. Don't forget to clean your chain and relube it. Also while you are there to check the chains tightness. Good Luck and Welcome

 

I changed oil and filters twice during break in using dino oil (Castrol). 200 miles and 600 miles. Then went to amsoil synthetic after that (1200 miles). I like to "read" the oil and see how the engine is doing during break in and also to flush the system.
