Default MY 135 MPH rear tire blowout!!

Now that I got you attention!!!!
So I was cat and mousing with a SV 1000 in heavy traffic, we both hit an open spot about he same time! So I snaped throttle and wheelied about 15 feet when a large bang ,very large bang happend, (O I failed to menchen that we were under neath AZ's 1/2 tunnel). Droped the wheeie and noticed that make back of my bike was swinging right to left by about 6 inches each way, So like a foot tottal, Back off the throttle moved all the way right. As im doing this the SV 1000 passing me making crazy gestures and faces. So about how long should a rear tire last. I did not notice before we road that I had a pin head bit of metal showing through(noticed only after blowout) I got just under 7 k on this tire, Should it have lasted longer??? what should I get next? same harder softer? not a trake bike but i do like to rock out with my **** out from time to time. let me know what you think, and dose anyone else have somthing like this happen to them

7000 miles on a tire...must of been a stocker.... I don't know of too many people who stick with, or go harder than stock. Esp. If they like to get it... Several of us run Pilot Powers, I personally won't switch from them...

Pilot powers shipped 230 from here http://www.swmototires.com/

Wow! Glad to hear you are okay.

7000 miles is decent mileage out of a sport compound tire like the Bridgestone BT014's. I have read many good test on these tires and there is no "chicken line" on my tire. These tires are great and I will replace them alike, especially since a front tire usually last two rear tires.

cool, well thanks guys! Im figuaring out now. For the prise of a shop to take off my tire and mount it and place it back on my bike, I can get a swing arm stand. So thats what im gona do. Hated oilchanges so far anyways. My pan would always hit the oil drain nut so i would have to pull out nut and then place the oil pan down! thanks again for the input!

No joke!! Glad you're okay.... 135 mph and a blow out... That could have sucked!!

7K on a tire is pretty good... I had about 4K before I changed my last one...
