lowering bike

another ? for you. If I go to lower my bike will I need to cut my kick stand? I cannot flat foot my bike. I'm at the balls of my feet. How low should I go?

I'd say it probably depends on how much you lower it. [sm=happy046.gif] another short one! You'll have to look up in the general tech section (https://www.kawasakiforums.com/m_141/tm.htm) to know what I'm talking about :D Seems like the 'midgets' are taking over here!

hey be careful about how much you cut your kickstand, cause that will cause it to lean over more when youre parked, if it were me i wouldnt lower it cause youre gonna have a bumpy ride and it is easier for someone to knock ya kaw over, jus learn to sit off the seat a lil bit to the left of right and balance with one leg cause it doesnt cost any money to mess that up.

RE: lowering bike

Well I lowered my bike, and I had to cut my kick stand a total of 1 3/4in....just remember that whatever you do to the back you have to do to the front. I've got mine lowered 1 1/2 in in the front and a 1 1/4 in the back. You could just get an adjustable kickstand, so you don't have to worry about how much to cut off. You can get lowering links on ebay for like 70 bucs. they are adjustable too. And it's up to you how you want to do the front, I just lowered my triple tree, so I wouldn't have to do anything real expensive. That doesn't cost anything. If you have anymore questions or need some help PM, and I'll help you as much as I can. Mines lowered...so you know. :-)

RE: lowering bike

i lowered mine a ab an 1 1/2 too..be careful not to lower it too much...the shock cartridge might hit the swingarm on large bumps...they make another shock made for lowering bikes...the cartridge is a little bit out the way so it doesnt hit.
