Installed power commander

So the other day I installled my akro exhaust an today I installed the map for my bike on the PCIII. Do I need to worry about the 9V battery hookup at all other than when I install the map from my computer to the PC? Thanks

Only if you're loading the map from a desktop will you need the 9V adapter. If you use a laptop with the PC111 hooked up to the bike, then you won't need the 9V adapter. It just provides power to the Commander when not hooked up to the bike.

Yeah, they should have made a disconnect right at the module. I load mine with a laptop on the bike. It's pretty cool.

Hey how come even when I have my power commander plugged into my bike and try to send the map to it (ignition off) i get an error sending map message? I then plug the 9v adapter into the commander and it sends fine. Does this mean I need to leave the 9v source attached all the time to save the map? Thanks in advance.

But did you have to leave the 9v battery hooked up to the adapter or did you take it off once installed?

Either the bike has to be powered up or you need the 9V adapter for power to load a map.

For some reason when I down load a new map I have to have the the bike ignition on and the 9v battery hooked up. I'm not complaning though, itstill works great.
