what kind of gas do bikes take?
i am a super newb to this stuff. the closest i have gotten to a bike is my huffy 5 speed.
so yeah
unleaded? 87 oct? or do they need a higher oct.
thanks

Since you are a newb to engines, I would prolly run the super. Get used to the ride, yes, a person can run lower octane depending on the tune.
Since you know engines and what detonation sounds like, super is just a safety barrier. You can try to go with the 87 and see how the engine sounds. Same as with all engines. Sorry if I made it sound bad concerning the engine newb comment.
well the highest we got here in mn is i think 93 at some shell stations....
also
the bold topic of e85 is begining to show up at every single gas station. i heard that its actually something like 105 oct.
if it is, is that bad to put in the engine. cause i've also heard putting to high of a performance fuel in a standard engine could prematurely wear it out as well.
the only vehicles that i know that use e85, is the flexfuel stuff, and my neighbors big block mustang pushin 600hp.

Put the lowest that does not cause spark knock. I have found that my Aprilia, CBR, and ZX6 run well on 91 without issues. More HP on the dyno too due to faster and more complete burn than 93 octane.
