Default HID headlights & neons

hey guys, i'm curious if HID headlights and neons are legal for motorcycles? i've seen a few bikes out on the street that has them, and they look really nice with the HID's.

if they are legal, where do they sell HID kits for the 05 636?

different states or counties have defferent laws... i know in my area no matter what vehicle you can not have the color blue, red, yellow, light on your vehicle.. but some people do have it. and it's normally a fix it ticket. but they (officers) will try to find something else so it would be a bigger fine. you might what to go check it out around your county to see what you could get away with.....

HIDs leagal in florida but florida is the only state that doesnt require insurance. so who knows Oh well just do it anyway if it is a fix it ticket just put the old ones back in then show them and change them back out. They look tight on the 05s. Neons, no red or blue just b/c they(police) think your going to pull someone over. Like someone believes your a cop. Good Luck tho

From what i read on the true HID lights, I dont think they are legal anywhere in the US for road use. They are only for show. I was looking into HID for my 05 636, but the legal thing and the fact no one makes a 2 light unit for a bike, so you have to buy and install 2 HID units. I have Xeon "HID" h4 bulbs and they are the brightest and the highest watt you can get without melting wires or blowing fuses. I got mine at Hard racing I have had them for over 2000 miles and i use highbeams all the time without any problem. hope this helps

I bought some Hyper White Xeon lights from Hardracing also. They are definitely alot brighter than EOM and they don't cost alot. I think they were like $45 for a pair. Very easy to install. You get the look of HID without the expense and install problems. But I did hear from some peeps that they had to replace theirs every so often because they would break or burnout fast. Not sure how true that is. [:-]
