HELP-just got a streetfighter 98 ZX6R
Ok this might be an odd question. But I just recently bought a streetfighter 98 ZX6R Ninja. It has no front headlights, windshield, front fairings, or rear tail (it does but is cut off so you can do 12 o'clocks without busting the tail up more).
I don't think i'll be 'stunting' anytime soon. So I was thinking of getting some of those parts replaced and put back on. So it'd look like a normal everyday rider again.
Will later model 600cc body parts and panels fit onto my 98 ZX6R? An if so.. anyone know what will? Main things I want are well. lol.. headlights, front fairings, and the a rear fender (tail).

i guess ill be the first to ask if you can explain your user name lol haa haa. thats a good one bro. i dont know wtf a "street fighter" 98 zx6r is but from the sounds of it. you have a 98 zx6r with track style body work on it modified to stunt. but do tell, where the street fighter thing came about and if you can, post a pic. and btw welcome to kf.
Sup evil, his name caught my eye as well [sm=icon_sneaky.gif]
I have always referred to a street fighter as a bike that rolls around with the fairings off and is used a lot by stunters.
To answer your question about interchangeable parts I do not think so with out some major modifications. You would do better to restore the bike with the oem parts. IMO

Hey MLF HNTR, Check with your local Motorcycle Salvage yard. They'll be able to tell you what years will fit. Kawasaki didn't change those bikes much until the ZX6R's came out. so you can most likely upgrade to a newer year bodywork or go full custom bodywork. Ofcourse, you'll have to make custom brackets & spacers to make it work. It would definitely be unique/ one of a kind.

As for the bike. It is a 98 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R. It's just a naked bike. I guess I should of said that instead of street fighter. I said that.. well because most people that stunt bikes and have a naked looking bike like this call it a street fighter.
So yep. I'm just looking for fenders and fairings. I think i'd rather have something decent looking to ride around on and learn on this summer. It probably won't be unlil late summer, if at all.. probably next year that I start pulling the front end of the ground.
So from what it sounds like, it looks like only OEM (or aftermarket) of that year model will work an fit on my ZX6R.
Damn that sucks. I was hoping to upgrade to a nicer looking tail and some upper fairings and headlights. *I got the bike for $1500. Not bad for a bike that runs and rides perfectly fine.
