hard to find neutral sometimes.

Its been a while since i benn on here. Ok so sometimes its hard to find neutral. Like when i just start it up and im riding, I get to a light and im stopped, i try to put it in neutral but it just goes to first. So I shift up its in 2nd then back down and into first. I even let off clutch a little to roll it in, but still, it goes back and forth from 1st and-2nd gear. It doesnt happen all the time, but i am thinking the tranny is a bit beat up from racing due to the previous owner. I know my sprockets are a bit worn but I still think they are fine and I dont even know if that has anything to do with it. Any suggestions.

Hmm... Does your kawi not have a "Positive Neutral Finder" ? i.e. the tranny on my bike will not shift from 1st into 2nd if I'm at a stop, it simply won't do it. As this is my first bike, it's kind of a nice feature to have, but I have been able to find neutral otherwise.

You're right in thinking that the sprockets don't have anything to do w/it... Most likely the tranny. I know on the little Honda Rebel I had in MSF I had to roll/rock the bike to find neutral, just a sign of a well-used clutch I was told.
