I add Motul Semi blend in my 636. I was told the full syn is not good for our bikes because of our wet clutch, is that true? Also about the rear stand... if you have frame sliders installed use the orginal bolts that you removed and put them in the threads in the swing arm and use regular jack stands. Easy as pie. Don't forget to remove them when your done though.
No that is not true. I spoke with the Motul rep and he recommends only their motorcycle oils for bikes due to the wet clutch. Motul has full sunthetics for bikes with wet clutches. He doesn't recommend the Auto Synthetic oils ( He only sells Auto Oils by the way, but gets me the motorcycle stuff) due to the lack of additives for the wet clutch. I have used Valvoline and Mobil1 full synthetic oils without any problems but then, I am not in racing conditions. I have over 10K miles on mine and am due for an oil change.

I was talking about moto oil, not auto oil. I was told by a shop that they recommend the moto motul semi blend for wet clutch bikes because of the wet clutch. They usually add full syn moto oil to the bikes that have dry clutches eg. ducati's etc. I can understand if they make full syn that has additives for the wet clutch, but he said for wet clutches they recommend the semi blend.

Replace filter, after straining the oil after approx 500 miles. Still a new ride so far on the 10, but the filter change after clutch break in.

I strain the oil, the amsoil is a killer oil and can be reused.

I stumbled across this old post about the oil .I recentley changed from the Kawai brand to AMSOIL synthetic .The problem is the engine is much noisier than before . I chnaged it at 3000 and have run it now for a little over 200 miles .Did you experience this when you change to the AMSOIL SYN ? I am in eastern Tennessee and I am guessing our climates are fairly close , what weight did /are you use / using .

I recommend AMSOIL, but I'm sure Mobil 1 is good stuff too. - Anyone know of a good sprocket kit for an 07 6R ?
