finally a day off to play...
I finally got a day off to work on the bike for the first time in about 2 months... Finally put in full synthetic oil and put on the lowering links... I put on the exhaust wrap and put in engine ice over the past 2 months slowly and it made it run a lot cooler (10-15 degrees) and pull better... I can't wait to see if it runs noticably cooler with the full synthetic... And I can't wait to see how she drives being lower... My dad even said it looked sexier and that he might be able to ride it now... yeah right...
Quick question though... If memory serves me right someone said they lowered their bike too low and it was bottoming out and someone said to lower the front end... How is this done? Maybe I can get around to doing that also when I get my next day off in 2 months.... Ohhhhh crap... It'll almost be time to put the bike away by then... damn winter...
anyways I'm off for a ride to test her out... [sm=massbounce.gif]

To lower the front I loosened the upper and lower triple tree bolts and brought it down about an inch or so in the front but I need to do something cause when I have a passenger the upper fairing will touch the front fender under hard braking.

Did you adjust the shocks? You can make them harder or softer by turning the *****... The stock settings for all the shocks on the bike are for 150lb person... so you might want to adjust all the shocks... besides helping when you have a passenger it also makes the bike handle a lot better...
the lower your bike is, the lesscornering abilities youll have. lower for short people, drag racers and anyone thats not an agressive rider.
I lowered mine to the lowest setting and decided it had to come back up to the mid setting. Lost to much in the corners and didnt feel worth a crap. I had issues with piggy back of my rear shock hitting the swingarm and hella scraps on the lowers to boot and that was riding way less aggressive than i like too. Not worth it to go to low IMO. I have a 28in inseam so I didnt have much choice but to go lower than stock.
I just slipped my shock tubes down a bit to keep the geometry close to stock as I could.
