Exhaust leak
Okay boys I'm calling in some more advice and help. My D&D exhaust is leaking where the can connects to the pipe. It's not too bad but it's leaving dark sooty spot where it's coming out. I tried tightening the ring around it to no avail. I'm wondering is there anything to patch it with. It's a cheap exhaust so I'm not looking for too fancy of a fix. I know I can't use epoxy because it will melt off but is there anything else?
Let me know! Also the foot pegs that came on my bike are aftermarket and suck. They are round with a really small knurl so I need some better (cheap) foot pegs. Any suggestions? |
RE: Exhaust leak
check to see if u have a crack around the can where the pipe connects to, also i would just take the can off and go to a local muffler shop and get it welded, your right expoxy won't work, the exhaust will get to hot for that, also u can get some oem pegs for that bike for dirt cheap on ebay, i see them on there all the time

JB Weld will be your best friend.

RE: Exhaust leak
weld it yourself if you can

RE: Exhaust leak
yes, check for cracks or broken tabs extra. You can expand the midpipe some to tighten the tolerance of the slip on muffler also.

RE: Exhaust leak
You could try expanding the header side for a tighter fit of find a stock exhaust gasket if there is a large gap. Hi-Temp RTV may work too.
