Hello Fellas,


I just sold my cbr 600 F4 and bought a new kaki 636 tribal edition. SWEET!!!

Anyway, I was wondering how strict I should stay to the 6r's rules for breaking her in. The manual says 500 miles at no more than 4000 rpms and another 500 miles at no more than 6000. I got her yesterday and have put 300 miles on her already. But, I have to admitt I did go past my rpms since I had to ride her for 150 miles to get her home to Tucson from Phoenix on the highway.

The highest I went was 80 mphs .. I didn't have a choice. Either drive or get run over. But I did stop every 30 minutes. Anyway, the rest of the miles I've tacken EXTREMLY easy. All buy the book. I didn't pass 4000 rpms once.

Let me know what you guys think. I've been riding for a few years, but never broken in a new bike. I just can't wait to get her done and ready!!

 

I BROKE MINE IN THE SAME WAY. AN 05 636. RUNNING 45MPH WILL GET YOU RUN OVER. I THINK YOUR IN GOOD SHAPE. MINE SEEMED TO HAVE EXCESSIVE ENGINE NOISE UNTIL THE FIRST OIL CHANGE AND EVERYTHING WAS GREAT. I NOW HAVE 9100 MILES AND IT SEEMS BULLIT PROOF. I HAVE NOT SEEN THE TRIBAL EDITION HOW ABOUT POSTING A PICTURE.

I just broke my bike in like I ride it normally. As long as your not one of those people who ride around wide open you should be able to no problem. If something is going to go wrong with it I'd rather have it happen when the bike is new than when the warranty is over. I revved my bike to red line a few times when it was still in break in and rode it at 6500rpm most of the time, shifted at 9k.

Its fine....

looks good for graphics, im not into the tribal/flame graphics too much tho...... i kinda like the high gloss over the 05 flat

 

wow, thats great lookin, is it the titanium color? hard to tell. if so i was wondering what red would look like with it and from what i see looks awsome

 

I just posted pics last night of my new 06 tribal edition. This is my first motorcycle...I got tired of riding on the back of my husband's so we decided to get me one. I love it!!! As for breaking it in, I have been shifting around 7000 rpm's. I think the dealer told us top speed in 6th gear @ 4000 rpm's is like 47 or 48 mph...and that'll get you run over. CMK, where did you get your frame sliders? I saw the same set on Ebay for almost $80.
