Nice little note I learned, ADJUST your foot controls. It helps to adjust your rear brake so you can still easily apply it, but not to the extent to lock it up. If you lock up your rear you will slide your rear tire. That doesn't always mean you'll crash. Any time in the dirt will teach you that a wobbling rear isn't horrible, it's just no good. If you ever do lock the rear and start to wobble, apply braking pressure calmy to the front and try to catch your traction as you begin to SLOW DOWN. If you try to accelerate from it you could catch the traction pad hard and freak you out, thus forcing a crash. Or it could catch and toss you off the bike. Don't forget it can also just cause a straight up low slide. All of the above suck. So adjust your rear to be able to apply it, but if you freak and slam the rear it won't lock as easily. Also adjust that dang shift lever too. I have a big foot, and with my Icon Field Armor boots it feels even smaller, but a little adjustment and I can ride comfortably with them on.
Ride on!

i was just like you when i first started riding. askin people for advice, while everyone gave me good advice, ill tell you this much, take the msf course and thats all you will need. they will show you all tha basics, the rest you will learn as u ride, just remember to take it easy, untill u get a good feel for it. dont get cocky, and always remember, you have nothing to proove to anyone. ride for fun, not to make a point or impress. while i have to say, the ladies just fall on my lap when i goto the coffee shop. lol perks of bein on a new kawi. hehe
hahah, yea I bet tey all do... watch out for whats b/t the legs... ooops! jk... anyway yea i am taking the class.. i am actually finishing the lesson part tomm and at the end of the day..taking the test!!! so i am excited for tomorrow... cant wait to pass
i was excited like you, let me give you a helpful hint about the riding test that my instructor told us after we alll!!! passed. he said they pass anyone who does not fall off the bike during the test!!! so dont try to do good on the test for points, just try to do the best u can without droping the bike because you are trying to stay in the lines during the infinity sign test, you will know what im talking about when u do the test. just have fun and ull be fine. let me know what happens
