Default 1991 ZX-6 Rear Hub

I've got a 1991 ZX-6 and was wondering if anyone has some experience with the Rear Hub? I noiticed with the bike on its center stand, and rolling the tire forward and backwards, that the wheel will move about 1/4 inch or so before it actually starts moving the driven sprocket. I'm not sure yet but I don't think that it's supposed to do that. I'll look in my Clymers tonight but if anyone has some advice as to if they've experienced this I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

Sounds like the cush drive is wore out and needs to be replaced. That will cause riding issues depending on the rider as well in throttle transitions. Will have a lurching feel to it.
