The 05-06 measured top speed is 166 MPH. Now what your speedo shows is different because of the error of about 10%. To verify your speedo's inaccuracy, you'd need a GPS unit or if you want to correct your speedo, get the speedo healer.

tis on my list of upgrades and goodies. i have had my speedo calibrated many times so i know generally about what its off, and i dont want to take anything off top end by changing teeth, nor do i want to lose low end to gain top. so im sticking with the stock configuration, thats just me.

With the Race pipe & goodies your're getting, If you get the race Kit ECU, you'll have more power and may be able to even keep your stock gearing. Or you can get a Dynojet PCIII & Ignition Module. This way you'll have the bottom end & top speed.

I had one built in to the Race Kit ECU. You can get one for around $400-450 fron Ron Ayers or from Kawasaki.com. You'll need the programming cable also which cost about the same. OR get the PC111 & IM. It's much more user friendly/ easier to program. Plus you can download available maps from dynojet. The Race ECU requires someone familiar with it to mess with the programming; Not many of those around unless you're in LA area.

Please tell me how a PC or ecu or what ever can make up for the loss of low end do to a full race exhaust system being installed.

Notstock, the Ignition Module advances the timing so the ignition/ combustion occurs a little sooner which will give you better response & lowend torque. The tuner was telling me that these bike really benefit from a 4 degree timing advance. This was when I got mine dyno'd but before I put the Race ECU in it. I could feel the difference. I can also feel the difference without it now; a little loss of power bottom & midrange. The Ignition Module is made to be run with the PC111 and is programmable like it.
