6 - 14
I have a 2001 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R at the moment. It's comfortable as it's a more set back touring style. Well I wanted to buy a 636 yesterday until I sat on it. The aggressive seating style and low low handle bars pushed me away from it. It was possibly the most uncomfortable bike I've sat on. The thing is, I'm 6'8' and it's obviously hard to be comfortable on a 600. Well as the store was closing I sat on a beautiful candy plasma blue for ****s and giggles. Wow....that is the most comfortable bike ever...period. So I think I'm going to have to get one. I know the horsepower is a big jump and it's not as nimble.
Mainly I want opinions on the 14. How does it go through the corners? Has anyone went from a 6 - 14? Would you recommend going to a 1000 first or just jump to 14. If I'm dumping money on a new bike I want to be comfortable and happy with it. Thanks

Go for the 14.It will handle the corners as fast as you can.I've footpeged mine a few times!!!!
I would also suggest a set of Heli-bar risers to make it a little more comfy.I have an extra set I'll sell for $50 delivered. Also for sport touring it's awsome.I've done 800+ mile days on mine with no promblems.I've got almost 20,000 miles on mine with no problems.

I went from an 06636 to the ZX14 and have no problems. I don`t think it corners bad at all. I can corner almost as good as people can on thier 600`s and 1000`s. The 1st month was a little scary once you wind it up past 6K RPMS. You will be just fine. The ZX10 has the same power to weight ratio. The 14 is a lot more comrotable on long trips. It depends on what you want. If you do go to the track I would stay with the 1000.

Dude,
At 6'-8" you better get the 14. As long as you leave the fly's in, it is very docile until you hit 6000 rpms. When you do that be ready, it's like hanging on to a giantbottle rocket. I am 6-4 and I know that I would not be comfortable on a 10.
Leave the fly's in for the first 3000 miles and the horsepower will not be an issue. Let's face it, when you are as big as we are, we will never be an AMA race champ.
The 14 is an amazing bike!

dastark. when someone talks about removing the fly's they are talkin about the secondary butterfly valves in the carb/fuel system. the 14 uses a second set to control the engines power. they open around 5k rpm for the power and then close again to restrict the top end. its as simple as pulling the carbs/fuel system and takin the screws out of the butterflies, so they are not there to restrict air flow.
hope this helps. good luck guys!!
