Default Shaking front

My ZX-12r started to have some front end shaking after about 6500 miles. Nothing too serious. when I took my hands off of the handle bars sometimes there was enough shaking that i have to put them back on. I changed to new tires (same type dunlop 208ZRs) and the shaking still happens but not all the time. I took the bike back to the dealer thinking that the front tire was out of balance. It was rebalanced but the front stiil shakes sometime. Any suggestions wher to start looking would be appreciated.

First thought would be a worn front tire but since you have new. Is the tire wearing evenly? No cupping!

Is the headshake when you are cruising or just under hard acceleration?

sounds like you need a stearing dampener. Maybe it's the road your on that is causing the shake.

my bike does that too just letting it coast on the freeway with my hands off the bars.... but once i put my hands back on i don't feel anything... so you might need a dampener, i know i do.... well although i've gone down on the bike twice it wasn't enough to tweak the front end....

Strong possibility -- could be worn out head bearings. Would be a good place to start.
