I would like to get your take on the ZX10R. What makes it the bike for you? What do you feal are their ups and downs? Also is this a new forum? It seems slower than most.

Thanks Bill

Welcome to the forums Bill!

As for the 10R - don't have one, so I can't really give an opinion.

Yes this forum is relatively new, so please be patient, someone will respond to you.

ZX10R is a easy bike to ride. It is easy to turn in the twisties at below 8K. Above that it takes a little more effort. Very good power - smooth. Rear shock is on the stiff side. Had to add steer damper dont know why Kawa didn't add one. My riding partner has a 05 GSXR750, My ZX runs away from him with little effort. Also on the straights you can pull a Busa for about 3/4 of a mile, after that they catch up.

Are you referring to the Daytona tire testing?

If so, this different/new 10R really has not been played with like the others. If two riders have to share the same ride on the same team, you know that "really" tweaking them has not been done just yet. It also looked like Honda came out with a much improved ride for this year also. Did it arrive to the teams in time? I do not know. Just that I really did not like the machine specs. The R1 it seems really did not do much this year except for the LE addition. That is great if you can plop down the bucks right away and forget about the Nickel and Dimeing if you are a Die Hard sport enthusiast.

I have not personnally ridden any 10R's just yet. After looking at all the new 10R specs (Mechanical/ride specs , the ride changes such as rake/trail, motor placement, and the hp/tq specs), I was sold with just that. Show me the specs. You can then figure what else is needed to place this ride in your comfy zone with whatever money you think is needed.

Yes, for the most part, I am brand loyal. I have really enjoyed the durability. And for this year, I am liking the spec sheet even better.

I just brought a 06 10R in black. I love it! U wont make a bad desicion by gettin one trust me. I looked at all the other 1000's and they dont compare. I was sold with the 05 model but i was taken away with the 06. Both model's and yrs have amazing amount of power. Not that I could say, b/c i just got mines and I want to break it in before doing anything crazy. However, even in low end speed and rpm you could feel the kick. This bike kicks *** on everything else. Good luck in your decision.

Right on mdc160

I have broke in my new ride in so to speak. I really like how the front end stays down. Launches slow because of the 1st gear. But am sure you will figure that one out. Not a bad ride actually.
