Short story of prolbem 2006 ZX10R., went for a short ride in the am ,then bike sat for about 3-4hrs. Thats when it started and shut off i did it again gave some gas and shut off again. Tryed to start it but would not start flooded so pushed back into the "bike house" let it sit over night went out the next day samething. SO went out got new plugs $45,put everything back! nothing crank..crank backfirecrank...crank backfire backfire crank. If I unplug fuel no moer backfire so I have spark and fuel. I also have checked them and I do have both. some say camsensor bad? ecu?cranksensor? Crank??? IT ran fine no loss of power not a sign @ all plugs were bad but have new ones?

Are the valve covers leaking? If they are the spark plug seals could be too which means the plugs are fouled out. They would have to be pretty oily but I wouldn't rule it out. I had my valve cover gaskets spark plugs and seals replaced. Was goinf to get the valves adjusted but the dealer told me the whole motor had been rebuilt. Ahh didnt see you put in new plugs hmmm sounds like a sensor to me. Its hard to tell though. Does the bike throw any fi light? If it does check the fi light and see what the problem could be.

an old post for sure..... but.....this may help others
per our fsm.....check the air filter, check the air passage is it clogged, air bleed pipe bleed holes clogged, pilot passage clogged, fuel tank air vent obstructed, fuel pump trouble, throttle body assy holder loose, air cleaner duct loose.
