04/05 zx10 mods
 

hey yall! not sure how often ya get questions like this, but heres one to ponder. im building a mini sprint car with a 04/05 zx10. ive already mod'd the trans for just second gear, i have an alcohol injection for it, will be doing some oil delivery mods, but what i would like to know is, is there any different engine models or series that i can swap parts to gain a few ponys? the only engine rule we have is it cant exceed 1200cc. i would like to keep this as cost effective as possible, because the sprint car itself also comes with other high costs of running. any info will help. i dont have much time to be online with my job and my car, so if i dont respond for a few days, i will be checking in soon. thanks in advance for the help.

Have you already checked out the 10r.net forums? Some good reads on the 10r's. A couple of the things that I remember on the first gens are, thinner head gaskets for bumped up compression, starter removal and fuel maps. Maybe a heavier flywheel for your application since the first gens models hit hard in the powerband with the lighter flywheel.
