yea thats good..i'm already feeling the urge to do some mods to this thing..but first things first..i got to learn to ride good..so my question i do have is how do you use the helmet things underneath the seat..i remember something in the manual that said its for your helmet..what is it..the cable looks to small to wrap around something.

whats a good way to lock the helmet to the bike if need be?
whats a good way to make sure the bike dont get stolen either?

any help would be greatly appreciated..im a newb so be nice everyone..lol

1)
Here's a thread about the helmet tethers with pics. If you still can't get it, just go to your local dealer. They should be more than happy to show you how to do it.
http://riderforums.com/showthread.ph...688&page=2
My helmet came with a carrying bag that I keep it in when attaching/storing it to the tether. I just keep the D-ring hanging out of the bag, which has a nice draw-string that keeps it cinched on there. I'm not sure if it's because it is an XL size, but my helmet makes contact with the rear-set when hanging on the tether, so the bag helps keep it scratch-free. If only I was good with a thread and needle, I'd make a helmet bag out of some kind of waterproof material, lol. But the whole tether thing takes so long to do I usually just throw the helmet in it's bag and hang it on my shoulder by the drawstring, taking it with me, or hang the helmet on the right handle-bar if I'm going in somewhere quick-like. The bag itself fits nicely -and conveniently- wedged up in the dash under the windshield when not in use. Also the fact that my alarm system has a perimeter sensor means no one can even get close to messing with my helmet. Contact helmet makers like Shoei or HJC if you are looking for a light helmet bag that cinches, I have both and they both came with very similar bags. Actually the drawstring for the HJC bag has a nice quick-clamp for keeping it cinched, and people will think it's a $80 lid, lol.

There are also universal helmet locks you can get, like the kind that bolt onto the handlebars. I've read threads on these 650R forums of people who claim those are easier to use. Get the ones made for 7/8" diameter handle-bars, or the metric equivalent. I've also read that it is inadvisable to ride with helmets attached to the stock seat tethers. Best to use a bungee cargo net to secure it on top of the rear seat while in motion.[/align]
