best upgrades?
i will be purchasing an 06 in about 2 weeks from a buddy. i am new to motorcycles, riden pedal bikes my whole life.what would bethe bestupgrades to getng? since i am a newb im not looking for power, but handling, upgrading weak links, making it look customand so on.
To start out I would also say the MSF course is the first step, then I would look at a set of R&G sliders to protect the fairings on the bike. You can be extremly careful with the bike, and most like one day you will still drop it. At some point it happens to almost everyone.
Get some R&G frame sliders to protect your bike and some Suburban Machinery handle-bars so it'll look and feel like a real sport bike. That's all I needed. This bike is so cool anything else will mess up it's feng-shui
Gear to protect your *** first. The MSF, or at least a few hundred miles of riding with some other people who love motorcycles and living.
And then for the bike, I heard one yesterday and they don't sound that mean. They are a twin -- so they're more "rumbly" and less "zippy" -- which is a great choice for a beginner I think. I would try to find a new exhaist that sounds meaner... they're small to fit under the bike though so I'm not sure how much better you can make them sound.
