650 Project for the girls!
2 Attachment(s)
Hi folks, I hope you're all well.......We're building another project bike up here in Toronto that I thought you might get a kick out of. This time the canvas is a new from Kawasaki, 2013 Ninja 650. The plan is to have it set-up for my wife Marti to ride, she's been on a 'built' Harley Fatboy for the past 15yrs and she's exciting to enjoy the sportbike world - and to get here matching ensemble!!
Many of our sponsors from the 2013 Kawasaki ZX14 HT (on n2o) project have jumped back in again, so it should be fun. A new addition to the team this time is Two Brothers Racing with their fabulous black/carbon full exhaust system. The DynoJet PC5 and Autotune arrived today - great way to set-up and run a stock or modified motor. I'll tell you more about our plans and post some pics as we get going. Here is a shot of my recently built 14 - unreal. Cheers, Cliff |
First order of business is as follows:
- Lose the stock exhaust, and re-map the motor for a smoother power delivery. You can't even hear this thing! - Give the gearing some legs (first gear is far too short IMO)....42 rear will also provide '0' correction on the stock speedo. - Lower the bike, way to tall for the street. - Install Q3 Dunlop sportbike tires, the stock tires are IMO, designed for a Harley. Huge difference in the way this bike will ride and handle with a 160 Q3 out back and a 120 up front. - Last thing after my initial ride - HealTech gear indicator, a must have on this bike. Cliff |
