Speedo cable
ok so every time i go to work or play around etc, and for some reason i get a wild hair you know where, and pop a wheelie, my speedo cable pops out of the thread on spot in the dash, ive fixed it by just barely screwing it back on, and let me tell you its a pain, so my question is should when i do my winter overhaul on it should i put blue (or any other color) lock-tite on the threads when the fairing is off? also where can i buy a lighter rim?

RE: Speedo cable
Yes. Any kind of threadlock will help hold that threaded barrel on. It's much easier to do a thorough job if you remove the front fairing assembly and clean everything well.
Are you sure you want a lighter rim if you're riding wheelies? Peace! -CCinC |
RE: Speedo cable
yeah locktite that puppy up. use the blue IMO. the red is pretty much "permanent" and probably isnt coming off without a torch and hammer. you dont wanna take a torch and hammer to the back of your gauges do you?:D

RE: Speedo cable
hmm, if it happens so often, the threads on the plastic cluster may be toast by now?
