I purchased a used 1992 EX500 that has a problem with the starter. The gear on the back of the generator rotor is loose and spins free when the starter is engaged. My problem is finding the appropriate tool to pull the generator rotor off. The book I have lists the puller as an 18mm by 1.5 right hand thread. I purchased a puller of that size and it is way too small. Do some of these bikes have different size threads on this rotor. Any thoughts?
