looking for help
 

Due to some unfortunate financial circumstances, I could no longer take my bike out on the road so I put it in the garage and there it sat. Well I can ride it again now but it sat in the garage for about a year. So I tried it out, dead battery. I got the new battery, put it in, now it will only start if the choke is on and then its a very rough idle and if I try to give it even the slightest amount of gas, it dies. I put some sea foam in the tank hoping to clean out the carbs but it still won't catch on unless the choke is on and I am unable to give it any gas. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm really itching to get back out on this.

clean your carbs. check ur plugs

Any chance I could get a link to instructions on cleaning carbs/plugs? It would be greatly appreciated.

You can check the manuals section in the gen discussion, not sure if the 500 was listed or not now.
