Default KN AIR PODS?

anyone ever used these, http://www.oldbikebarn.com/Street/19...ir-Filter-54mm, I know this site is for the zx1000 but they are made also for the ex500. I was windering if these would affect the slide action in the carb very much. As always though they will require tuning, but I was windering if these would cause too much of a loss in vaccum causing one to have to drill out the slide hole a little bigger?

for them to work, youll just need to rejet and maybe shim the needle .20"

stock airbox is really the best thing for this bike though.

to quote FOG

"Ex's are a "thing" with a finite capacity. It has been reached. Any attempts to make it better will only make it mad."

Another vote for stock airbox. Easier to clean, does a better job of isolating the engine's/radiator's heat from the intake; (keeping the intake cool provides more horsepower, as is plainly illustrated by any bike with a Ram-Air sytem on a chilly morning.) AND does a better job of containing the intake and mechanical noise.
Glad to hear my opinion's are parallel to Fog's, for once.
Peace!

To quote an old 500 racer I met once: "We spent a decade riding thousands and thousands of laps trying to figure out how to make our 500's go faster than each other, and what we learned at the end is that Mr. Kawasaki knows a lot more about making a bike fast than Mr. K & Mr. N do."
