Finally got my 500R
Well after months of looking, researching, and just plain waiting for the right deal to come along...I finally purchased a 2005 Ninja 500R (Black). Its in great shape with about4300 miles. I already have the aluminum Sarachu's on the way. Next will be a dark smoke windscreen. Unfortunately with the weather in Seattle, I haven't had a chance toride it yet (black ice everywhere). I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some warmer weather soon.
I'll post some pix as soon as I have time to wash her.

Rear tire tread depth looks pretty good, rubber still has plenty of stickiness to it. Possibly the tire was already replaced, I'll ask the previous owner. All the proper maintenance has been done, thankfully the previous owner was meticulous about savingthe service receipts.
This is my 2nd streetbike (previous was a 82' Suzuki GSL650) but I haven't ridden in about 10 years. I had about 3 years experienceon that bike. I took the MSF course the beginning of December as both an easy way to get my license and a good skills refresher. Highly recommended btw for anyone thinking about it.
thanks for the hints/warnings keep em' coming!

So my Sarachu exhaust is here, and I still haven't been able to even take the bike out yet (weather). Should I wait to ride it with the stock exhaust first? or just say screw it, and put on the aftermarket cans? Kinda bored on vacation, got a new toy and I can't play with it yet....puttinga new exhaust on would at least ease the pain / kill some time......ah well...

Well the weather dried up a bit so I finally got to go for a spin. Wow! I'm pretty impressed with the acceleration of this bike. I definitely need to get used to the handling characteristics and brakes so ill be sticking to local rides for now. Very happy with my purchase and not regretting my decision to purchase this (rather thanthe 650R)in the least.
I finally slapped on the Sarachu's the other day.....wow talk about instant grin factor! Not only are they beautiful but the sound is something else. Install was a piece of cake. Went with the Aluminum version (only $298 + shipping). Now if only the weather would clear up....forecast is for 5 more days of rain....damn you'd think I lived in Seattle or something...[sm=smiley2.gif] I'll get some pictures up as soon as it dries out.
