Default Carrying a second helmet?

I'm probably getting a 2006 500R this weekend and I'm just interested in how easy it is to strap an average full-face helmet on the back seat. Will I have to buy something or is there enough stuff to hook bungies on that I won't have to worry about it?

A bungee net does work. There are hooks under the rear seat you can attach to.

I also discovered by accident, that if you use a gun lock cable to attach the helmet to the steering column, and hang the helmet next to your gas tank, it does not interfere with you while driving.

I can also stuff a helmet into my tank bag. Gods I love my Icon bag!

I wouldn't trust a $12 bungee net to secure a ~$400 helmet. But I suppose there are more expensive bungees and less-expensive helmets available.
A backpack or shoulder bag would probably be the cheapest, trustworthy method. Take the helmet in with you and try-before-you-buy.
And good luck with that new bike. I also have a 2006 (named Gumby) and I do love that bike!

Peace!
