Default aack, newb! getitoffgetitoff!

lol, now that i have your attention...figured i'd finally get around to signing up on here. picked up a 2000 500R (that just HAPPENED to match my car, lol Subaru blue) last fall, haven't had too much time to ride since my carbs need a rebuild but i'll get it done sooner than later.

does anyone have any ideas on how to get the remaining decal strip off the tank? the previous owner removed all the other decals and i'd like to get rid of that thing before i consider a repaint.

anyhoo, hi, howdy, be kind - i'm still new to the hobby/sport/lifestyle/what-have-you.

To remove that stripe would require the removal (or ruining) of the tank's clearcoat.
I'd recommend having a paint/body shop do it, then reapplying the clearcoat.
(Or you can ride around topless and no one will notice it.)

Am I missing something? Did the 2000 500R have a different lower fairing?

The one in her picture is an aftermarket; probably Targa.

i don't know enough about this forum software to tell you why the THUMBNAIL doesn't work for you (have you cleared your cache? what browser are you using? have you restarted lately? etc.), but the LINK works.

haha, yes, i DO in fact drive a subaru...99 2.5RS 5MT coupe, to be exact. it's so wacky how close the two vehicles are. i didn't intend to get a matching bike, but hey, whatever works.[8D]
