i am new here and registered up just to get some feedback. im stuck between buying a 94 Ninja 500R or a 94 CBR 600. both of these bikes are a little small for what im looking for right now but money yields that i would love to have either of the bikes because they will serve their purpose. but what im asking is how do these bikes compete...basically stock for stock?

Well first of all, I'll put my 05 zx6r against any honda... but in this particular case go for the honda. The motor offers more cc's and more aggressively tuned cc's than the ninja 500. You can have alot of fun on a 500, don't get me wrong. And much like our friend on the post, alot of people underestimate what Kaw's offer.

 

I have a stock 94 Ninja 500. For a first time rider this bike offers plenty of power and a whole lot of fun! It is really up to you - do you want a 500cc bike or a 600cc bike? What about insurance costs - cheaper rates for a 500? Choose what you want.

But since I am biased - I'd say go with the 500!

i would go for the 600. i like the styling and that much more power ober the 500. just my 2 cents

 

i agree with mad kaw. id go with the honda. just cause it looks better. there both comforatable bikes. but the cbr has more power too. but on the flip side that 500r is gonna be cheaper on insurance cause the cbr is still a sport bike where as the 500r is considered more of a standard or sport tourer to insurance companies. both have plenty of parts sense both the 500rs and cbrs are compatible with alot of there different year brothers.

 

I would go with the Honda just because it has more power and better styling. Just my 2 cents as well. I think if you were going to have to keep the bike for any length of time before getting a new one you would out grow the Kaw too fast.

 

kawi 500: cheaper to ride, probably cheaper parts, lower insurance, better gas mileage.

honda 600: more fun, better looking, better built (maybe), it's a real sportbike. sorry 500 riders, just my opinion. I have a freakin' 250 guys! I know it's no sportbike! LOL
