I was at the stealership the other day and the parts guy mentioned a new 500R was on the way either as a 2008 1/2 or 2009 model. Has anyone seenpictures yet? I imagine the updates will be mostly cosmetic like the 250R. Probably a minor Front disc brakeupgrade and a few other things.....

Probably another copy of the 650R, like the 250.
KHI hasn't posted up the parts diagrams for the 250 yet, but I fear they'll have the cylinders bored directly into the top half of the crankcase, which IMO would make it a disposabike.
Glad I got my '06 when I did.

IMO it would have to be an 09 model as its too late to be an 08 1/2. new model years start around the end of september or so.
maybe they can call it an 08 and 3/4ths model.

 

hell i'll just wait till september. i just want it to look better. i have an 06 and want something more sporty looking

Not quite the drastic change I was expecting. I thought I'd see more '08 250 in the design. Oh well.

 

Why change it at all?
What should happen is simply aNEW model. Leave us the 500R and give those that require a different look what they want too.
