why do cars not like us?
took the bike out 2nite, been about a 4 days since i rode it cause of work... was driving down 2 lane street by my house and this huge caddy was coming out of a street on the left side, im sure he saw me, so i see him starting to go, i moved to the right lane and slowed down alittle , then he pulls right out in front of me in the right lane, i hit the brakes and kept beeping, he just drives off, then even worse a cop was behind me, seen all of this and did nothing... i did just what they taught me in the msf course, always think cars dont see u and all that... havent been on this fourm in awhile, any new stories from u guys?
I think that sometimes car drivers have a very bad impression of motorcycles- they may not remember the many well behaved riders that they may see, but they will remember the one idiot that is doing something really stupid on their bike. That does not get us any respect. How many drivers have these knuckle-heads pass them on the highway with the front wheel in the air at 70+? I have seen this particular behavior several times.
They might even figure, "oh I am bigger than that motorcycle- he/she will get out of my way." It certainly doesn't help when drivers collide with bikes and then their excuse is -"I didn't see it" and this is accepted as a valid reason.
I'm not saying that these are the only reasons, but they probably add fuel to the car driver's fire.
