Total Noob
hello to all, and thank you in advance,
I am considering buying a 250r I like the i look, handle and height, and yeah i am kinda of a fat guy, i am 6 ft and about 255, i have riden this bike before seeing my brother fix one that he got for free, we have been practicing in and around my neighbor hood, I have also riden and currently ride mopeds (yeah baby feel the cc's all 49 of them) so i am not really concerned about it being underpowered because i take mopeds on the roads and yeah it is slow, and my question is, if i were to get a 250r how can i expect it to be on the highway, would it be able to handle a 2-4 hour trip (70mph avg), i have read a lot and many say that it is slow accelerating on the highway, but never about trip length and strong points on the highway. i know but many will say get a bigger bike, and thought i appreciate the advise, i am really set on the 250r (mostly becuase i can pay cash for it.)
Thank you all

The 250R can handle just about anything you throw at it. 70 MPH will have the RPM's singing high, but it'll be fine. I wouldn't personally recommend long trips though. After about two hours of riding, I get really uncomfortable on mine. (But I have heard other people not having any comfort issues.)
Acceleration isn't one of this bike's highest points. You likely be faster then most four wheeled vehicles around you, but don't expect to win a drag race against a 600cc bike.
To sum up the 250R, It's the perfect city bike, great for fuel mileage, versatile, and costs very little to maintain.

Welcome to the site man, oh and get a KLX 250, you don't' want a bike that's only good on the pavement........unless you don't live in a place like this.
I'm just saying.
